Biography
Rebecca Simpson brings more than 25 years of diverse advocacy experience to the Finney Law Firm. Rebecca focuses on litigation and government and public affairs, and her practice includes advising businesses on legislative and regulatory advocacy, land-use and licensing matters, as well as commercial, discrimination, and constitutional litigation.
Rebecca helps clients navigate complex interactions with state and local governments – representing their interests before elected officials, zoning boards, administrative agencies, and community stakeholders. Drawing on her combined legal and public-affairs expertise, Rebecca develops proactive outreach and engagement strategies that often prevent costly litigation by resolving potential conflicts through collaboration with government and community leaders. When resolution outside the courtroom isn’t possible, she leverages her litigation experience to deliver strategic, results-driven advocacy for her clients.
Rebecca began her career at Taft Stettinius & Hollister and later joined Squire Sanders & Dempsey, where she practiced in the areas of general litigation, real estate, and tax law. She also served as an Assistant Prosecutor in Clermont County, gaining valuable courtroom and government experience that continues to inform her advocacy today.
In addition to her legal work, Rebecca brings over 15 years of public affairs and advocacy experience, having led campaigns across the Midwest and nationally. She has successfully advocated for the energy industry, taxpayers, and other commercial and nonprofit interests. Skilled in lobbying, coalition building, and navigating contentious political landscapes, she frequently represents clients on policy initiatives and legislative changes, helping them shape outcomes and build constructive relationships with policymakers, business leaders, and community stakeholders.
With her deep background in litigation and government and public affairs, Rebecca is uniquely positioned to help clients achieve results both in the courtroom and in the halls of government—where law, policy, and public perception intersect.
